We have proof that Intel will be releasing the two chipsets in Q2, 2008. Here's the latest Intel desktop chipset roadmap showing the G45 and G43 chipsets.

Rumours have been going around about the new Intel G45 Express and G43 Express desktop chipsets that come with integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator. Well, there's no need to wonder any longer.

Back in June, we leaked Intel's desktop CPU and chipset roadmaps. They showed that the new Core i7 desktop processor (codenamed Bloomfield) and its chipset, the Intel X58 Express (codenamed Tylersburg) are scheduled to be launched sometime in Q4, 2008. Well, we are now in Q4, 2008!

In addition to Intel's October 2008 desktop CPU roadmap, we also managed to get our hands on Intel's latest internal roadmap for their desktop chipsets. We also managed to obtain detailed information on the Intel P55 Express (Ibex Peak) chipset, including how it differs from the Intel X58 Express chipset.

NVIDIA CEO Huang Jen-Hsun must have felt quite sick when Intel announced that they chose to go with ATI's CrossFire X technology in the recently-launched Intel 4 Series Express chipsets and the upcoming Intel X58 Express chipset, instead of NVIDIA's competing SLI technology.

Of course, no one expects NVIDIA to take it lying down. As big as Intel is, NVIDIA thinks they can outsmart their erstwhile partners and they may have just done that with their newly-announced nForce 200 SLI processor. What is it?
