As far back as I can remember-- which admittedly isn't very far-- GUI toolkits have included a special type of text entry field for passwords. As you type, the password field displays a generic character, usually a dot or asterisk, instead of the character you actually typed.

Choosing secure passwords is important to protect the user accounts from being accessed by unauthorized users. The problem that arises for all users is that secure passwords are harder to remember. Writing them down is one solution to the problem. The other possibility that is more reasonable is using a password management software.
A good password management software should ensure data security, provide password generation and integration into common web browsers to make the life of the user as comfortable as possible.

I had to change my Windows password frequently at my old job which sometimes lead to the situation that I could not remember the new password at the next login. This happened for instance when I changed the password on the last day just before holidays. I had to contact the IT department to reset my password. There is an easier solution for computers with direct access.

I personally think this is outrageous. Border Agents in the United States can not only search your laptop, mobile phone or any other electronic device that you might be carrying while traveling to the United States; They can also download computer contents or keep it for further examination. There are no written rules yet on the dos and don’ts of the process and while it is unlikely that they will confiscate or examine every single electronic device they might examine yours.

Rapidshare itself does not offer a comfortable way to mange the files that have been uploaded to the file hoster. Rapidshare Manager on the other hand is providing an alternative solution. It’s only working with Rapidshare Premium Accounts and the Rapidshare Password and Username have to be entered during login to be able to access the files that have been uploaded.

According to Digital Inspiration that’s the case if you are using Windows XP because leaving the password blank makes it impossible to connect to the computer remotely. Cookies are basically used for two purposes. The first is to remember that a user is already logged into a website and to track user actions. While the first purpose does make a lot of sense the second is one that is better to be avoided. If you would disable cookies on a website where you have to login you would be prompted to login at every page load, that is, if the website uses cookies to handle those information.

Then there is the group of users who write down passwords on paper, a group that lets the browser handle the data and a last group that is using password software.
