Right on schedule, Mozilla have rolled-out the first release-candidate for FireFox 3.0, which can be downloaded here.

Firefox 3 Release Candidate 3 has been uploaded to the official Mozilla ftp site and is currently transferred to all mirror sites before the announcement is made on the official Mozilla Firefox 3 website that a new version is available.

Now that did not take long. After releasing the Firefox 3 release candidate 2 just a few days ago the Mozilla team decided to publish yet another release candidate that is currently directly available on the Mozilla ftp site. The Check For Updates function in Firefox is not detecting the new version yet and there is no official announcement about that version on the Mozilla homepage either.

However, as with all things that are new, Firefox 3 also suffers from some compatibility issues and bugs on its initial release. While validating my installation of Windows Vista Ultimate X64, I came across a bug with the new Firefox 3 browser.

Seems that June is the month not only of Opera 9.5 final but also the one of Firefox 3. The Mozilla team has just announced that June 17th will be the release date for the final version of Firefox 3. You can expect to get a heads up message here at Ghacks as soon as the release has been transferred to the public Mozilla ftp site.
