Am I the only one who is getting enough of those third party Twitter Api services that all use (i)tter in their domain name? Despite it’s pretty silly name Monitter, which apparently stands for Monitor Twitter, offers an interesting service.
Users can enter up to three terms in the three columned main interface which from then on will be monitored by the service. When a user on Twitter uses the phrase it will be shown in one of the columns as well. The updates pretty much appear in real time on the website.

I stumbled on to a service for managing multiple twitter accounts and at first I thought it was going to be one of those second rate sites, I was put off a bit by the 16×16 logo I saw on the referring page. However when I got to Matt I was instantly pulled in.This is a site with a truly unique and fun style, which allows you to very effectively manage a whole load of Twitter accounts while your at it.

I recently visited the size of Sarah Perez who is running the excellent Sarah in Tampa blog where a Twitter Follower counter caught my attention. The counter looks very similar to the Feedburner counter that I have added to my blog to display the number of users who are reading my RSS Feed each day.
The Twitter counter works similar only that it is displaying the Twitter followers of a Twitter account. I’m not using Twitter but I think this could be interesting to the “social inclined” webmasters who read my blog.

As I’ve said before, I’m not a big twitterer…
I would say I average maybe 1 Twit every 2 days, in fact I don’t know why I even still use the service. I was never turned off the service from down-time or anything like that, Twitter could go down a whole day or two and I doubt I would even notice.

I’m not a big user of social networking sites for a very simple reason: I simply don’t have the time. The little time I spend at home can definitely be better utilized than hanging out on Facebook, Myspace, Orkut, etc. Having said that, I know plenty of people who just can’t do without their social networking.

It’s been about a month now since I introduced Plurk here at gHacks and now that I have had a chance to properly test it, here is an update on the developments over the last few weeks.
The first thing I began to realize was that although Plurk has a great way of managing threaded conversations it’s also very easy to be overrun by noise. I’m guessing the idea was for ‘the ‘fans’ feature to be used more, but as it is everyone simply adds people as ‘friends’.

Are you as sick of hearing about Twitter as I am?
See the problem is that I never really “got” Twitter… I tried, I really did. I signed up and followed people and Twittered regularly, but it never really did it for me. Eventually I just forgot about it.
Enter Plurk.
Considering micro-blogging isn’t something I’ve really got into you may be surprised I wanted to introduce you to this service. Some say it’s just a better featured Twitter clone, but I think it has a great deal more potential then that.

Another Day, another Adobe Air app, that’s just the way I like it! I love Meebo, and the only reason I don’t use it is that it’s a browser based application. That’s a bit of a paradox, since that’s the whole point of Meebo, but I love the people behind it and love the app, I just need my messenger to be open, but I like to close my browser.

With the rise of Instant Messengers and their web counterparts like Twitter came the problem that users who wanted to post text paragraphs had to divide them up because of the text size limitations of the clients. To be honest I’m not sure why there is such a limitation in first place but maybe I’m to old fashioned to grasp the use of such services anyway.
