Read more »The Windows Vista driver development for the GeForce 8 cards seems to be stopping with the ForceWare Release 169, the most recent of which is the ForceWare 169.44 driver. NVIDIA has restricted the use of Release 174 ForceWare driver only to the new GeForce 9 series cards. The recently-released GeForce 9600 GT is the only example of the new card series. If you try to install ForceWare 174 using a GeForce 8 series card, it won't allow you to do so, stating that no compatible graphics card were found.

A user on the Donation Coder forum asked if there was a way to prevent this from happening and if it would be possible to display the Windows taskbar only when a key, the Windows key, would be pressed.

Read more »I’m keeping track of every change to Ghacks for about a year now which means that I write down the time of the change and what I did change, e.g. advertising position or links. This is invaluable to be able to reconstruct a previous state if something goes terribly wrong. If advertisement revenue goes down I can check the log and see if I made any changes to the positions in that time.
Read more »The new Intel Atom processors are rather amazing pieces of technology. These diminutive processors pack a whole lot of punch. They have the performance equivalent to that of the Intel Pentium M, for a fraction of the power consumption. With a TDP of only 0.6W to 4W, the Atom processors are ideal for Mobile Internet Devices and Ultra Mobile PCs as the lower power consumption means the devices can deliver longer battery lives. These may not be mainstream mobile processors, but they will certainly have a significant impact on the design of such mobile devices.
