A new version of Revo Uninstaller was just released and I thought it would be nice to inspect the new version since my last review dates a while back. Several new features have been implemented into this new version including improvements in the Advanced Uninstall Mode, interface improvements and safety improvements for the Uninstall Safe Mode.
Read more »Microsoft likes to make things complicated from time to time it seems. When you right-click a file, folder or search result in Windows Vista you get the normal command menu with options to open, edit or print the marked objects. If you happen to press shift while right-clicking you will also notice that a new option has been added to the menu which is called Copy to Path.
Read more »Martin posted back in December about switching to a tripple-boot, having XP, Vista and Linux on the same machine. I myself installed Ubuntu a while ago and am recently switching near full-time to it. One app I really love is Amarok, one of the media players in the repositories.

The website that I’m going to introduce is called My HD Wallpapers although that title might be a bit misleading because wallpapers are available in many different sizes on the website.
Read more »I’m using my Toshiba Notebook a lot when visiting clients or traveling and one of the things that really bothered me a lot was that I always had to change certain network settings like the IP address, Gateway or proxies. Worth than that was the fact hat I had to remember those settings.
Read more »Torrentfreak are reporting that two vulnerabilities have been discovered in VLC Player which allow execution of arbitrary code. The second vulnerability has already been fixed in the newest version of VLC which is available for download on the developers homepage. The first vulnerability however can be exploited to cause stack-based buffer overflows when loading subtitles in VLC.
Read more »Microsoft finally released the standalone version of the Windows Vista Service Pack 1 for 32-bit and 64-bit systems. Both versions contain five languages which are English, German, French, Spanish and Japanese. The 32-bit Service Pack 1 download has a file size of 434 Megabyte while the 64-bit file size is 726 Megabyte.
Read more »One way to save lots of money is to refill printer cartridges instead of buying new ones. The process itself was rather messy in the past but it has become easier now and there are even shops that refill the ink for you. Some printer cartridges however have a chip build in that prevents that the printer is recognizing the refilled cartridges effectively preventing users from using this low cost method.
Read more »It’s Wednesday and you all know what that means, it is time for the weekly software updates thread. This week was rather exciting with lots of updates for popular applications, actually so many that it was quite hard to decide about the software update of the week.
I had to make a decision nevertheless and the update of the week award goes to Teracopy. Not because it had the most impressive changes but because it is such an awesome application that it deserves to be mentioned here.
Hiding Windows can be something that you would like to do for several reasons. The most obvious is of course that you do not want to show an open window to someone who passes by your computer, be it supervisor or wife. It can also help remove windows out of sight that require no interaction but popup during system startup.
