Microsoft Touchwall

I really like to watch technology presentations and demonstrations, especially on the TED website but also on other websites. I recently came upon a presentation for Microsoft’s Touchwall, an inexpensive rear-projection system.
The video below is a demonstration by Director of Envisioning Ian Sands who explains various features and the technique behind the Microsoft Touchwall product. The software used to run the show is called Plex running on the Vista plattform. The other equipment was a plexiglass screen, a rear projector, an infrared camera and three infrared lasers.

Different Keyboards on Asus Eee PCs

Having considered buying an Asus Eee PC I must admit that I never thought that the models could have more differences than just the color. I would have never assumed that the keyboard would be different as well depending on the color of the model that you choose. The Laptop Mag investigated black and white Asus Eee Pc models and discovered that the black and white models are indeed equipped with different keyboards.

Monitoring Internet Reachability in Real-Time

What’s the first thing you do when your Internet connection is not working ? I changed my reasoning from thinking that it was related to my computer to one that assumed the Internet Service Provider was responsible for the outage. Well that’s not 100% true but I know several signs that tell me if it is my fault or the fault of my ISP.
I usually restart my router to be on the safe side but that’s it. Sometimes you can make a connection to the Internet but that connection feels slow, you get disconnections and websites that are not loading properly.
